The average esthetician spends more energy marketing to new clients than maximizing revenue from the clients already in her chair. Bundling fixes that — and it's one of the fastest ways to increase your monthly revenue without adding a single extra hour.
Here's why it works, and the three bundle types that consistently outperform everything else.
Why Bundling Increases Your Average Ticket
When a client books a single facial, she's done. She'll think about rebooking when she remembers she needs it — which might be four months from now, or might be never.
When she buys a series or a membership, she's committed. She shows up. She comes back. She stops shopping around. And because she's already paid, the mental transaction is complete — she focuses on the experience, not the price.
Bundles also let you offer a perceived discount without actually discounting. A series of six treatments "valued at $540" for $480 feels like a deal to the client. To you, it's six guaranteed bookings, improved cash flow, and a client who's locked in for the next three months.
Bundle #1: The Facial + Add-On Upgrade
This is the lowest-friction bundle and the one to start with. Pair your most popular facial with a complementary add-on treatment — LED, enzyme peel, brow or lip wax, dermaplaning, whatever fits your menu.
Pricing: charge approximately 10–15% less than booking both separately. The client saves a little. You increase your treatment time slightly and your revenue meaningfully.
Example: Classic Facial ($85) + Dermaplaning ($55) = $140 à la carte. Bundle at $119 — 15% savings for the client, $34 more than a standalone facial for you.
Position these at booking: "Most clients also add dermaplaning when they come in for a classic — it's $119 as a bundle versus $140 separate." That's it. No hard sell. Just information.
Bundle #2: The Treatment Series
A series is three to six prepaid appointments at a discounted rate. This works especially well for results-driven treatments: acne protocols, brightening plans, anti-aging series.
Clients get better results (consistent treatment produces better outcomes than sporadic visits), and you get predictable income. Win-win.
The key: frame it as a protocol, not a discount. "The best results come from a series of four treatments over eight weeks" is more compelling — and more honest — than "buy three get one free."
Pricing tip: Offer 10–15% off for a prepaid series. Make the saving explicit. $95/treatment for four = $380 versus $340 prepaid. Most clients see that as money back in their pocket, not money they're spending.
Bundle #3: The VIP Monthly Membership
This is the highest-value bundle and the one most solo estheticians never build — which is a mistake.
A membership gives clients unlimited or fixed monthly treatments at a flat monthly rate. It's the beauty industry equivalent of a gym membership: recurring revenue you can plan around, high retention, and clients who become your biggest advocates.
A simple structure: one treatment per month + a monthly add-on + 10% off all retail = $X/month. The client pays automatically. You get a committed client base that shows up reliably.
Example: Membership priced at $75/month includes one mini facial (regularly $65) + one add-on (regularly $40) + retail discount. Client saves. You earn $900/year from one client instead of hoping they rebook twice a year.
You don't need a fancy software platform to start. A simple recurring PayPal or Stripe billing setup and a clear client agreement is enough to test whether your clients respond to it.
Start With One
Pick the bundle that fits your current menu best and offer it to the next 10 clients you see. Don't overthink the pricing. Just present it as an option at checkout: "We also offer this as a series at a slight discount — would that be helpful?"
You'll learn more from those 10 conversations than from any amount of planning.
